How Emergency Tyre Replacement Works — Call to Driving Away

  • Call or WhatsApp us with your location, vehicle make and model, and the tyre size if you can read the sidewall code (for example 205/55R16 91V). If you cannot find it, the make, model and year is enough.
  • Confirm stock and price — we check the correct tyre is on the van and quote you a fixed price before dispatch. Nothing is added later.
  • Wait somewhere safe — if you are on a motorway or dual carriageway, get out of the vehicle and behind the barrier. Give us the marker post number if you can see one.
  • We arrive, typically within 20 minutes, and inspect the damage with you before starting.
  • We fit the replacement on site — wheel off, old tyre removed, new tyre mounted and balanced, torqued to manufacturer specification, TPMS reset where fitted.
  • We take the old tyre away for disposal through a licensed recycler, check your remaining tyre pressures, and take payment by card or cash.

When a Tyre Cannot Be Repaired and Has to Be Replaced

Most drivers ring hoping for a puncture repair. Sometimes that is the answer and if your tyre can be safely repaired, we will tell you and repair it, because it costs you less. But UK tyre repairs are governed by British Standard BS AU 159, and it rules out far more damage than people expect.
A puncture is only legally repairable when all of the following are true:

  • The damage sits within the central three-quarters of the tread, clear of the shoulder and sidewall.
  • The hole measures no more than 6mm across
  • The tyre still has at least 1.6mm of tread across the central three-quarters, around the full circumference
  • The tyre has not been driven on while flat — running flat shreds the internal sidewall structure even if the outside looks fine.
  • There is no exposed cord, bulge, or previous non-compliant repair
